Exercise Type: Run
Weather: wet, dewwy grass. a little sunny while we raced.
Comments:
we went up to hickory park and got ther at 8:10. we walked the course, and then we started warming up at 9:50 because the varsity race at 10:40. jared and ryan carl were not racing today, so my goal was to score. after the warmup, we stretched, did speed developement, and it was time to race. i started out pretty slow. i saw tim get slammed into a tree about 35 yards ahead of me. he got back up though, which was good. i started remembering to swing my arms, so i sped up and passed a bunch of people. i was still really far from the team though. i was probaly in about 58th. people kept saying to swing your arms, and that helped because i always have my arms to low. i caught up with brendan in the woods and passed him at about the 2 mile mark. i saw tim and zack ahead, and was catching up to them. i thought we were about to finish, but we still had to go in the woods one more time. i passed zack in the woods, but there was no way i wasgoing to pass tim. at the finish, i pushed as hard as i can, but zack pushed harder and passed me at the last second. tim's time was 18:00, zack's time was 18:06.6 and my time was 18:06.7. i came in 38th overall and 5th on the team. after the race i did a cooldown with lani and laura. my right heel was hurting really bad.
