Exercise Type: Run
Weather: 40s and damp and dark
Comments:
After a rainy final day of winter break which ended up getting happily filled up with family activities, I slipped out for a quick run in the dark before cooking dinner. Ran a straightforward loop which was about 3.4 miles according to my estimates and confirmed on mapmyrun. I went Livingston to the church to the trail to the alley to Grafton to Wisc and took the new sidewalk to Bradley. Then east to Conn and south to Livingston and home in 2:00. clicked splits as I turned onto Bradley, Conn, and Livingston. (11:23, 16:34, 23:36, 25:36 --total) It felt quick in the dark once I loosened up and nearly stumbled into the road turning onto Bradley. A nice, brisk run, but not really a tempo effort as I never strained at all. Took heart rate about a minute after finishing and it was 112 beats per minute and I wasn't breathing hard. Pace averaged out to 7:30, but I was surely slower than 8 to start and right near 7:00 for the final mile.
