Avocados in the air

Weather: 30 and grey

Comments:
Drove mini-bus to STA and ran up the ramp to the track as my warm-up. (Actually ran to and from the bathroom too.) Got myself a team of Brian Bobo and Leah Snider. We ran the following leg order: B L A L A B L A L A A L. My splits were ghastly in the deceleration, although I blame a the last two on my unwillingness to pace an 800 of back-to-back legs. 73.7, 76.9, 77.8, 79.4/85.2. The lack of warm-up, the shocking cold, the length of time since my last speed, and the poor pacing all made this feel like the usual punch in the nose that the Avocado Invitational usually is. At least, I have now gotten that "first workout" out of my system and I'm strangely motivated to do more real workouts focused on consistency, leg speed, etc in the coming weeks. Total time for our 12 laps was 17:03.
