Exercise Type: Run
Weather: track cough-inducing
Comments:
My first meet of the winter season; unfortuantely my cough hadn't gone away. When we got there we spent a lot of time trying to get to the bathroom and didn't get to do striders. Also, even though I probably drank everything in my water bottle on the bus ride, I felt thirsty and mouth felt dry before the race.
Actual race:
First lap: got the baton from Annalise and tried to stay relaxed
Second lap: I think I slowed down a lot, it was getting hard to breathe because each breath I too felt like it was going in dry
Third lap: I got this feeling that I really didn't want to push any harder and I just sort of gave up
Fourth lap: Started to kick, then with about 100m to go realized I had another gear and tried to use it.
I definitely was breathing hard after the race and couldn't talk at all, but I'm not sure how I feel about it. I don't want to complain about a PR :) but I felt like I maybe could've run better? Not sure.
Cooled down outside with the rest of the 4x8 but then Abby M lost her relay team after the relay so I went out and cooled down (for the second time) about an hour afterwards. Everyone looked really strong at this meet and it was really fun to cheer. Shoutout to Annalise and Abby for killing it at their first track meets.
