Got out for a run today, and decided to head down to the IHS track from some "speed work." I put that in quotations because the current state of my running doesn't feature speed. Well, I guess the only way to fix that is to do it. I got to the track, and it was all dark, but I didn't mind. Did four laps of rhythm 100s, in an effort to improve my flat out acceleration and quickness. I went easy around the curves, and faster on the straightaways. Alas, it wasn't even that fast; it was barely faster than my mile pace. I'm not quite sure why. Maybe my body is a little tired from Sunday and Monday? I definitely felt slow on the warmup to the track from my house. I wasn't going absolutely full out either on the straightaways. At least I did it, though. Ran back home, and passed a house in fall creek that seemed to have Halloween cobweb decorations up AND Christmas lights. Weird. I ended the run by going up West Hill via Elm St., which is not the most fun way to end a run. Got back and did some lifting, abs, jump roping, and plyometric box jumping.
I got an invitation in my email to represent LACS at the 2017 National Student Leadership Conference (NSLC). Turns out it's a bit of a money making scam. Oh well.
