Comments:
Well, I definitely have to say that this wasn't my best race. But I feel like it wasn't necessarily my worst race either. I just wish I could've done better.
Mile 1: I started out faster than I normally would because that was my "assignment" for this race. I kept a pretty steady pace and I heard coach yell to not get behind before the bridge so I speeded up a bit more. Rachael was going pretty fast and I was struggling to keep up with her. By the end of this mile she was way ahead of me, which was discouraging during the race.
Mile 2: Well, this mile was the hardest mentally for me. I was struggling with my thoughts and had to keep reminding myself that I run for God and I remember Sarah yelling that to me on the course and I threw my fist up in the air haha it was really awesome! But anyways, I just had really negative thoughts this mile.
Mile 3: As I was coming upon the two mile marker I was SO SO SO thankful for Rusty and Brice. I don't quite remember what you guys said but you totally encouraged me and I remember that that was the exact moment that I started feeling positive again. I caught quite a few people on this mile and then on the last stretch I was close to catching Rachael but I didn't. So that was a disappointment, but it was Rachael's turn to win out of the two of us:) haha (because we always switch off) haha Anyways, it wasn't my best race mentally...but I think I need to not worry about this race too much and start to focus on working harder this week and getting used to the "new" weather.
I'm so proud of our team today though. You all did amazing as usual:)! OH! And HAPPY BIRTHDAY COACH!!!!!!! ENJOY YOUR WUBBZY!!! hahahahaha. :)
