Comments:
Left the apartment around 9:15 to move the car out of the street sweeper spot. Parked it up on Amsterdam near 86th and paid the meter. Jogged easy into the park at 86th and headed south on the bridle trail. As I loosened, I picked it up a bit. I was moving pretty well by Central Park South and was focused on catching a small pack of high school runners up ahead. They turned off part way up the East Side and then I used the 400 meter marks to focus up past the reservoir. Pace was 6:48 for that mile and kept that up the rest of the way. Achilles was certainly nagging me by the time I got up to speed, but I was in a push through it kind of mood and it is either just very familiar now or not that bad. Found a path north of the Reservoir and ended up exiting the park at 86th and heading back to the car. Looped the block to get a few more minutes, and after pumping the meter, I jogged back to Dad's (already stiff from the minute spent paying the meter). This definitely felt like more work than it would have three weeks back, but nice to get a quality run and reassuring as I might still end up pacing jenny for some or all of the Cherry Blossom race Sunday
