First day of ACS Bike Trip today. For those not familiar, ACS curriculum includes a Trips Week in late May, where students sign up for one out of a group of maybe 20 different trips. Each Thursday leading up to Trips week during 4th Cycle (or 4th Quarter), students meet with their trip group for the entire day. Anyway, today we biked along the Black Diamond Trail all the way out to the Taughannock Falls overlook, then back. The group was split into three smaller groups. I guess I was in the "faster" group, but I could've gone much faster the entire time. I wanted to speed up, probably hit 5 minute miles or under, but it's middle schoolers and high schoolers though. My breathing didn't even really change all that much throughout, only on the hills, and I didn't feel really tired at all afterwards. I still figured I'd log it though. The way back was rather miserable, as we were biking in complete rain for an hour. My hand froze, and my feet as well. The only way I saw to warm up my core was to take a nice hot shower when I got back. Hopefully it will be more challenging next time.
