Exercise Type: Run
Weather: Sunny
Comments:
Felt good to get in another run - did some core and worked the hanging board a bit afterward. Also, no watch - just running.
Talked with Parker, Justin, and Craig today - they competed in GSAC trials yesterday with Justin advancing in the 400 and Craig easily getting the top seed in the 800 (Justin qualified for the finals in the 800 the past 2 seasons - impressive that he was able to drop down this year and still advance). Craig is a freak of talent - ran 1:52 last year with a short season (2 months on the bike - came off the bike and ran 2:02, 1:55, then 1:52). He won conference in the 800 last year, then came back to split 49.2 in the 4x400 and almost pulling out the W. He's a "high-responder" as David Epstein outlines in his book "The Sports Gene". Proud of those guys as I worked with them these past 4 years, in fact, they called me Wed night to tell me that "We didn't have Dads we could look up to, and you filled that role - you taught us to be men and we're so thankful." All glory to God - who is the greatest example of what a Father looks like.
