Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Ran the 1600 and 400 at B Championships. Last night I was very excited for this race and my goal was sub 6:30, but when I woke up with a terrible cough and sore throat I was thinking it couldn't be possible. The school day just made me feel worse, and I felt so tired doing striders, but once the race started it all went away.
Lap 1 (1:29): I tried to go out with a pack of Cathedral girls, a girl from Holton(?) and Lucia. Realized that I went out too fast but I felt fine.
Lap 2 (1:40) // (3:09): Consciously slowed down a little bit, unfortunately started losing the back and started to run on the shoulder of the Holton(?) girl. Throat felt tight by then.
Lap 3 (1:42): Even though this was slower than the previous lap, I made a conscious effort to try to surge to keep pace and I felt kind of dead. The Holton(?) girl started to come back.
Lap 4 (1:35): Tried to kick with 400 to go, passed the girl with about 300 to go and just tried to stay on my toes. Never got the pack but felt like I kicked pretty hard and felt like I used up all my energy for a PR.

The 400 was also good. It took me a while to cut in and I was running right behind a pack for a while until I caught up to them in the last 100, even though I handed off pretty badly. This felt like I used everything up too--another PR.
