Today I came back from my week hiatus and am starting with my summer XC training. I'm now following a plan that I have laid out, so hopefully that'll help me safely increase my mileage. I'm also beginning to read JacK Daniel's training book, so hopefully I can incorporate more knowledge into my training.
Today I ran a 6 mile out and back from my house to long beach. Though I was feeling some stomach cramps and a stiff back (still from track, combined with bussing now), I still ran very well. I was hitting 6:35 per mile. I definitely went too hard but it felt great, since the weather was beautiful. I'm happy to be back and plan on going a bit slower tomorrow.
