Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
I did a bunch of research on how to run a 400 and at lunch Ijeyi and I were watching Olympics 4x400s. I was really pumped up to race the 400 but I got nervous when we got there because it was coming up so much faster than I realized. Zoe and I warmed up about when the 2 mile went off. We had a lot of time for drills and strides but then we lost Ijeyi for a little bit so I was freaking out but I felt better when we were out on the track. Lucia was first, then Zoe, then me, and Ijeyi. I think we were in second behind corning when zoe handed off to me cause she passed the vestal girl. Our hand off was trash, I was really close to dropping it so we definitely gotta work on that. I followed that advice that I found online, which was that first 200 should be faster, gaining speed in the first 100, relaxing your arms on the straight, then on the 2nd 200 switch to relying on your arms. I went out the way and it helped a lot to relax my arms and focus on my legs on the back straight away. Then I started pumping my arms more (a little too much) and tried to go as fast as I could. I think my handoff to Ijeyi was pretty good but I couldn't really tell. I'm really happy that I ran a 64 but I know I can go faster. Somehow we managed to beat Vestal and Ijeyi ran another 59! Now I think we have a chance to make it to states I reallyyyy want to go cause I kinda thought that I would never make it to states.
