Fern Ridge Path Bike

July 16, 2008 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Bike

Weather: 89F, sunny, breezy

Comments:
Pretty OK bike today. It wasn't as windy but I'm getting tired of biking: 3.5 hours in the last 4 days (including the 13-mile run Sunday). Listened to NPR again, which is surprisingly captivating while exercising.

Knee's feeling better, but still stiff at times. I was thinking about running a couple after the bike today, but I'm going to wait it out.

Went out tonight for Keith's birthday. Went to Jung's Mongolian Grill, which is like the Del Re of Asian food. You fill your bowl with shit, they grill it (litrally while you wait up there), and you eat it -- all you want. I went up twice but ate 95% veg-ables. Half the other people I saw had ONLY fatty lo mein noodles and MEAT. Seriously, no other ingredients. Kittin me?

Went to Sam Bond's Garage for Keith's first (legal) beer, which was a smooth "Downtown Brown" from Lost Coast. Then popped across the street for a Hefeweisen at Tiny Tavern (home to a very TECHY crowd). Broke up the drinking with a stop at Sweet Life. My tiramasu cake wasn't that great, but the brownie K and I also split was decent. Stef showed up for that, and Keith opened his nifty gifties from me. NIFTY!

That dessert hit us hard, because we were quite tired for our last stop, at Diablo's Downtown Lounge, where I remember hanging out with lots of runners/track people back during the '01 USATF. Low-key, but a bit too "sports bar"-like. Went home after that, quite full of good food and good beer.

Slept like garbage, d/t the combo of nutty food, beer, and aleves giving me gut rot/gas. Knee ached a bit, too. :|

July's over half done and I'm pissing it away...
