Comments:
?Ok so it's been a bit since we did a hard 5k and it is the Florida summer at this point, so I seriously do not want you to put too much pressure on yourself for this one.??With that said, I think we can get a great effort in and do well with the quality work you have put in between April and May.??The first mile at Baseline is faster than other two so I think if you go out anywhere between 10:50 and 11:15 pace, you will be in a good spot.??The second mile is uphill and then downhill, so let's really try to take some chances. Push the uphill a bit knowing that you got almost have a half mile of downhill coming.?? In this mile we are looking to increase effort and either speed up pace or keep it similar to first.
The 3rd mile is hard!. We know this. Do what you can to stay in the 11's by hanging on to other runners or trying to pass a lot of the people that will bonk in that 3rd mile.??
I do think you are ready to do the whole 5k with a .6 mile run followed by a 1 min walk.
I thinking walking a full .1 will not be enough running.
So lmk if you think you can figure that out on watch.
Either way, We have more 5ks coming, but this should be a great start for the summer!!
