June 6, 2017 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: 70ish and sunny, not too humid
Comments:
Met up with Liam at the VA end of Chain Bridge on the street above the trail head since there was no parking on the dead end 41st street. After blockheadedly leading him into the cul de sacs which he warned me not to do, I finally followed his advice to the trail and we went north on the Potomac Heritage Trail. We (I) missed the creek crossing and ended up following Pimmit Run (?) much longer than I ever had before. Eventually we clambered down to the creek and forded. After a driveway ended at a wood pile, we bushwhacked until we came out into someone's' backyard. Their driveway led us to a road which led to another and eventually we found the intersection of GW Parkway and rt. 123. We returned to the cars via the main trail past Ft. Marcy. I enjoyed the run quite a bit, wasn't too tired from last night's tempo, and kept a decent pace along the trails, although I was struggling up the final hill to the car and sent Liam ahead at that point. Nice to chat with Spike before he heads off to Rome. Also, I fit in an adjustment with Dr. Hatch in the morning, right before the run and feel very much straighter now than before, plus the SI joint pain I've been feeling is gone. The strain/tweak in the front left lower ab is still there as I write this in the afternoon.
