It's amazing how well you climb after a week off. Unlike running - with bouldering it's super beneficial to take multiple days off bc climbing can be so hard on your upper body. And it does take a lot of strength - mental and physical - so being fresh is super nice bc you can just hammer some routes and really nail them.
Met a guy who supposedly climbed a lot in Utah but he was not good at all. Made me wonder if he mostly climbed in gyms bc his footwork and body positioning was off. I didn't not know man, I wonder if I'm really good at bouldering bc I meet people who say they climb a lot and can talk the talk and look the part but they just aren't that good. I don't know jack about bouldering but feel pretty confident out there. I def have a ton of room for improvement but may be in a "2011 TNF 50 stage" ("Are WE any good?!")
