Track Workout - 8x400 2:00 Rest

First track workout since Fall 2013. Thought Tufts track was closed but it wasn't so warmup was 2 miles longer than I planned.

Wanted to get back into workouts if I'm going to do a 5K in July. Went into it thinking I'd do between 4 and 8 x 400 w/ 2:00 rest, number depending on how I feel. Haven't done anything fast since Fall 2013 so I was thinking tentatively trying to hit 90s (6:00 pace) which is ridiculously slow but didn't know how this was going to go. First rep I just ran and didn't bother checking my pace and from there decided to kind of run by feel. Didn't feel too hard, tired by the end of each rep but good to go by the end of the rest. Just walked around during the rest, no jogging rest yet but 2:00 feels longer than I remember. Definitely tired by the end but happy with it. Felt my left hip flexor by the end so I'm worried about that. Legs cramping on the cooldown. Maybe aim for 80 every rep next time, with shorter warmup but do some strides and active warmups at the track. Made a cup of coffee beforehand, seemed to workout ok.
