Ran with Steve, Jon, and Tobi again. After a day with some biking, Kadima, and paddling, we ran Dad's loop around 6:30 pm. Started off not feeling quite as slow as usual, and realized, early on, that this might not be the day to keep altogether as a pack. Tobi and I were inching forward early on and our group was slipping apart some by the 2 mile mark. Tobi and I circled back on Jefferson,a but I announced my intention to pick up the pace by the turn around at the hotel. Tobi came with me and we built the pace steadily over the last 1.75 miles. What had been near 8:00 and 7:40 by my mile splits became 7:20 and 6:40. Tobi's watch again called this run 4.19 miles and had us going from 7:3? to 6:20 or so. I admit, that his splits could be more accurate than my vague recollection of old car odometer splits. Final time was 29:58 which considering how hard I was working, was rather humbling. I'm still very aware of the uneven gait and thumping left leg syndrome, but with focus, I can make the stride more even and less ragged for short stretches of time. Still backlogging slowly.
