August 1, 2017 (Afternoon)
Exercise Type: Run
Weather: high to low 70s, a bit of rain
Comments:
After some research and contemplation, I decided to buy a pair of Brooks Ghost 9s (Sorry Nike, don't call me a back stabber). I tried on the 8s, 9s, and 10s at Gazelle Sports in Kzoo yesterday. I ultimately went with the 9s because they were only 75 and I liked the feel of them. I feel in the long run, the support with be beneficial and plus i keep having small issues (hip for example), so i'm spending this week breaking in my new shoes.
Anyways, I ran 11 in my Nike Free RNs first. The run felt smooth and easy. I'm in NB for the week so I went from the school to Maudlin to Lake Side to Krueger and back to the school. It started out in the high 70s but cooled down and rained alittle bit since I started at 7:40pm. My hip felt alot better, I hardly felt any pain after taking a day off.
I ran an extra 3 miles from the school to past the bridge and back in my Ghost 9s. The run also felt super smooth. The shoes feel a lot different, since I'm not used to having really any support but i really enjoyed running in them. I think I'll slowly get used to the extra weight, but either way they were super comfortable.
Overall successful long run. Glad the hip problem didn't take me out for more than a day
