Today, I did my first R workout of the year. I did 6x 0.25 (yup get fucked metric system) at R pace (a little faster TBH, but i accidentally picked too short of a workout lol). I honestly felt great during this workout. I ran the workout on a loop around New Buffalo's soccer field. Some parts of the ground were uneven and there were a few rough, tight turns where I'd take a few steps on concrete, but I made for a solid XC simulation. I did the workout in my XC spikes and I seemingly got faster and faster as the workout went on. The loop was completely the same throughout, but my phone froze up a bit on the last interval so I kept going and hence 0.26.
I also warmed up 3 miles and cooled down 4 miles to get the mileage in. I did both of them in my Ghost 9s, I think they might be broken in now since they're feeling really good. Also the one extra 1:32 interval was me making/testing out the course.... had to count everything since I'm still trying to get 60 miles for the week. I'm gonna go on one more run around midnight/1am to get 60 miles for the week..
Overall great workout, I think next week I'll have to move to the 50-60 mile workout groups, since I guess that's where I'm at now.
PS. Also if you're ready this, sorry for skipping out on the historic Mattawan 5k Austin Langlinais. Wasn't feeling like racing 2 weeks in a row, but i hope you won it! #NoSleepTillMattawan
