Yes, I actually just did a real workout! Since the Helene Cody run is on Saturday, I thought I'd do a little pace work to see what it feels like to be fast. Hit up the University track, since I figured their team wouldn't be using it by the time I got there. 8x400 with 1:30 rest, and 2x200 at the end for speed. Went super well! After taking the first one a little too fast, I figured it out, and kept the rest much more controlled. All the reps were between 84 and 86, and felt really comfy. The splits weren't even, but hey, I'll take what I can get for now. Given my effort, I'm honestly really happy with this. If this is any indication, I should be at minimum somewhere around 19 minute pace for Saturday? Who knows. My body's really good at finding ways to underperform on race day.
