Endurance based 400's

.25 intervals!!

This one can be at a track or road

Warm up 1 miles easy

Run 6x 400 (.25 miles)moderately fast with 400m (.25 miles) runs in between

These are 400m(.25mile) intervals but you are NEVER stopping so they are NOT all out like we do at the clinic.
The idea is to run .25 miles fast shooting for about 2:15 to 2:30,...nothing too fast because the recovery is still moving. I want the recover to be .25 miles in 3 min or less!!!

I want to do about 6 of these keeping in mind that this is very much an endurance based workout and not about true speed.
If by the 3rd one, you feel it seems easy then feel free to speed up the fast ones some but again, no stopping in between!!;)

You are basically running 3 miles continuously but obviously changing speeds.

Cooldown 1 mile if have the time and energy for a total of 5 miles for the day....
