Beat the heat. Build character. The Sheep Run.

September 24, 2017 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
Today was a run I had been hyping for a while - The Sheep Run. It's the longest run we do on this club. I'll begin with how my day started.

I got up, slammed water, and planned on driving over to IM West. But my car was blocked in by Pat's car and Carlyn's car, and I couldn't find Carlyn's keys. And Carlyn was doing things with Lucas upstairs and I didn't want to bother them. So I didn't have much of a choice but to run to IM West for some more mileage.

I was really excited for today. The Sheep Run! I remember first doing this run back y freshman year with Chase Taylor, Adam Terwillegar, Colin Riley, Jeff Girbach, Ben Lambert, and maybe some others. It was magical. Chase was a sheep whisperer or something because he got some good baaaas from the sheep. This run is an important part of club lore; if you get the sheep to baaaa back, that's good mojo. But if you don't, then gg. Then my sophomore year I didn't do the sheep run and that was a mistake. Then last year I had a legendary sheep run with Ben Lambert, Joe Hegger, and Ryan Canna. This year I mostly ran with Australian Alex and Jack Adams as usual.

I like the heat. It was like 87 degrees. We were having a good run until we reached the sheep center. There we were fortunate enough to find a water spigot thing. But then as we continued on the run, all the sheep were gone. There was no sheep!! This was really really bad. There were some cows that we mooooed at but it's not the same. And since there were no sheep, bad mojo settled in. The last 3 to 4 miles were pretty tough but built a lot of character. Australian Alex died off at around the corner of Mt. Hope and Farm, and then I was getting kinda impatient and picked it up a lot and dropped Jack Adams for the last 2 miles.

I finally made it back to IM West, and then realized that I had to either walk or run back home. So I walked over to Farm Lane and then jogged the rest of the way back. Once I got home, I chugged a can of grape soda, a smirnoff ice, and a red bull.
