Well first of all, my September running log.... WHACK........ The fact that I started at 12am........ WHACK......... The amount of awkward L's I took today...... WHAAACK........ and the pacing of this workout............ FUCKIN WHACK.
The workout was a 3 mile warmup, 1x5 mile workout at 6K to 8K pace with 3 minute standing jog, and 2 mile cool down. I felt pretty meh on the warmup and didn't know what to expect. Then the first 1st mile interval happened..... and wow I dicked it. I did not realize how slow I was going until I was at 0.75. So the first mile ended up being just horrible and way off pace. But I kept on going.
After I got my mile route down on the first interval from my GPS, I used my old Nike watch. The 2nd interval was 5:44, which was still slow but better. The 3rd interval was finally around goal pace at 5:33. But then the 4th and 5th intervals happened. I noticed that I was finally starting to feel back to normal. So my 4th split was a 5:18. And then I sent it harder on the last interval and ran 5:04.
Basically instead of 6K to 8K pace, I did a progressive tempo to 3K pace lmao. Weird fucking workout. And then after my last interval, I had to poo really bad. So I texted Ryan and asked if he was still up. Luckily, he was up and let me into Wilson. He let me poo and even gave a slice of pizza. What a great man.
Anyways yeah pretty weird workout, but I mean I guess if you're gonna start 24 seconds too slow, then you gotta finish 26 seconds too fast. Foot hurt a little bit, but at this point I'm not too concerned. I think it's just some tendentious and my mileage has been whack anyways sooooo. I'm gonna try to go hard from here, so I'm ready for regionals!
