Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
This can be done wed. Or Thursday but is very important for race and a little more time consuming so might have to be done after work ...
It's a 5 mile progression tempo run
So This is not a run that is supposed to be a steady pace, but
The idea is to start at a regular easy pace (maybe mid 13's) and increase effort a bit each mile. So if you start around 13:30 pace for example and keep increasing effort each mile, the pace should get faster each mile depending on conditions, hills, terrain etc.
I am definitely not looking for anything drastic... just an increase in effort each mile.
You can choose how you want to do it. But obviously the last few mikes will have either longer or faster run pieces. And you can just give me the mile splits. I think this will be very doable for you if start conservative with a few walks in that first mile. This will allow you to speed up each mile thereafter.
No need for warm up and cooldown onnthis one;)
