Exactly the kind of run I've been hoping to have

November 8, 2017 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: getting chillier, 40s

Comments:
Stayed at school to prep for conferences and then headed out for a short run around 5:00pm as the light faded. Overlook Trail-Fletchers-Canal-tunnel-GDS LMS. Felt pretty good from the start and the pace built naturally. By the time I was on the canal tow path, I was moving well. (I'd also caught a teeny, tiny maple leaf in the first block of the run as I passed Sarah Tama's old house.) On the unreliable mile marker from near Fletchers south to the back of GDS I got a 6:53 mile. I definitely worked the last stretch up hill from Canal Road and finished strong to the LS front doors. Only had 26 minutes on the watch, so I jogged a cooldown around the apartment building for 2 extra minutes. Next few days were tough ones, with conferences and banquet planning. Ended up taking Thursday off despite my desire to run short, quality runs every day over these next three weeks.
