Ugly sweater 5k .....

Ok as we talked about, Coming off your 10k PR and recent workouts, you have to know that you are fitter than ever. I know this course is flat and with descent weather , I think you can go out very close to 11:30ish min. Pace and feel pretty comfortable. I would start with a .4 mile run/.05 walk pattern where you are really focused on running fast, but not out of control.
Our focus has been on longer distances recently, but you have still got some great speed and tempo work under your belt to be able to go out there and feel pretty comfortable in the 11's.

For that first mike, Try to stay with a group of runners as long as possible and let them do the work and block the wind.
If the .4/.05 feels good, stick with it. If you need to lengthen walk to .1 then go for it. I truly think if you go out close to 11:30 pace, your second mile can be faster than ever.!!
You are soo ready for a PR so just believe that your body can push through as it is only 3.1 mikes.
Much shorter than your last two races!!!
