***PR!!!
Ok lady... you have to know that you have turned a HUGE corner this fall.
You are in a completely different place than the jax half from October and it has shown through your recent races and 5k personal records.
Between your last 13 miler, your fast 6 mile tempo effort and many more workouts, we have to believe that you can go out at close to 10:20 to 10:30 pace and feel pretty comfortable.
I think your goal for the first 6 miles is to stay steady and consistent without overextending more than anything.
It's a flat course so we might as well take some chances and see how you feel. Anything sub 10:30 would be ideal but don't freak if an 11 pops up Bc of wind or too many people or whatever.
At mile 8 assess how you are feeling. I want this to be a good race no matter if you can PR or not! You've already proved yourself in soooo many ways this fall, so yes, go for some fast splits but at the same time, do not quit if all the stars are not aligning up and you have to slow for one reason or another.
I want the 2nd half of the race to be more about racing than pacing. Try to pass anyone you can. Run behind a faster group If you can find some people and let them do the work.
Do whatever you can to stay in the low to mid 10's but don't stress If not every mile is!!!
You are en route to having a fantastic 2018 season so let's use this as a fantastic run to get you ready for that!!!
