Today, I had a hard time getting motivated to get out and run. It was so hard that I didn’t run until 12:30 at night. I decided to run on the NB outdoor track since there weren’t a lot of places to get 7-8 miles. And to make the miles go by faster, I decided to do a 4-mile tempo workout to get my miles in (with a 2 mile warmup and 1 mile cooldown of course). Was it the best idea to do a tempo workout? Mehhhh, but I really needed to do something to make the 28 laps go by faster.
The tempo run did not feel too great. My 1600m splits were 5:57, 6:05, 5:54, and 5:56. So definitely not blazing. My lungs felt good, but my legs were feeling a bit tired from the miles this week. And plus doing that many laps on the track sucks. On the last 2 laps, I wanted to push it get a sub 5:50 last mile but I had to poo really bad. I ended up getting that business done on a tree after the tempo was over RIP.
Overall not a great day and RIP to the short-lived “Plan 8” (since I only ran 7 today). Still happy i got some miles in tonight and got out there and ran. Plus I got a feel for the track again which was a definite plus.
