Grind Doesn’t Stop on Christmas Eve

December 24, 2017 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: Low 20s and a small snow storm

Comments:
Well as the title says, the grind doesn’t stop for the holiday season...... but it almost did. I accidentally took a long nap and tried to rush a quick run. I got 2 miles in from doing neighborhood loops and got a text from my little sister that I said I should come back soon to eat Christmas dinner. But when i got home, the ham still had 30 minutes, so miscommunication 101. I went back out 3 minutes later and did 4 miles down Long Beach.

There was a small snow storm outside. It was snowing hard the entire time and the roads were icey. It the was definition of a character building run, since the route was super hilly, super snowy, and super icey. After getting through the hilly part, I hit the flat part by the lake. I ran by a guy who told me to be careful and warned me of the ice. I stay on the snowy side, since the road was a complete slip and slide. Sure enough on the way back, I biffed it on the ice while switching sides of the road. It wasn’t as bad as Lucas’s and I kept going immediately, but dammmmn lol.

The pace was slow but it was a brutal one out. I made home just in time for Christmas Eve dinner. Overall happy I got out there and got some work in. The grind continues tomorrow.

Merry Christmas Eve, fellow loggers! Have a good one!
