For today's workout, I did a roughly 11-12 minute warmup, 6x200m at mile pace, 10 min regular run, 6x200m at mile pace, and a 14 minute cool down. I came to practice slightly late from my required GLS meeting. So I ran in business casual attire from the International Center to Jenison for 0.5 miles. I totally count it, because i ran the whole time and was sweating. Gotta do what you got do to make it on time and lookin fly.
I did another 8 minute run in Jenison and started the workout with the boys. For the workout, I mostly ran on the outside or slightly behind Paolo. I decided to stick with him the entire time, just to get used to hanging. One could say I was definitely a fucking leach. The splits weren't always super consistent, but most of them were right where I wanted to be or faster and I felt pretty good, despite being a bit hot from the hell that is Jenison. The rest of the mid distance crew did really well and we had a nice pack for most of the workout.
Overall another quality workout. I'm happy I made it on time. My legs aren't too sore and I'm still feeling really good (probably from taking a lot of breaks before though).
In other news, I spontaneously decided to sign up for a sales competition in february for GLS. I was originally gonna sign up for volunteering, but some kid told me to send it, so I said "fuck it" and signed up for it. So RIP me. I also joined the GLS 5K committee, so if anyone wants to help me get experiential hours, sign up for it on April 21st. It'll be my first time helping set up a 5K, so it'll probably be only a slight shit show.
Also on a different side note: Ya know there was this kid. This kid had some real potential. A gift. A dream. The best runner in all of the Twan. But then he didn't show up to Wednesday practice... to go to a basketball game instead. There is only word I could use to describe someone who pulls this Christian Bale bullshit....... a bitch! So if you're reading this Austen Langlinos or Langlisasa or Lagnlinostic or Lagniposticali (I don't even remember how to spell your name, because I don't even know you anymore), then I better see you next time. Also lowkey look forward to your clap back.
