Comments:
Spent most of the day at the Last Track to Philly. I really don't care for that name. I decided on short notice to take advantage of the five heats of the boys SMR we weren't in and fit in my run. Unfortunately, there were only four heats. I got too ambitious and went east on Strathmore through Garrett Park. I was feeling slow and lethargic, and decided I should challenge myself a bit by running down the hill to Beach Drive. Turned at 11:50 and took a modest pace up the hill. Mark Berenson called me at the crest (14:30 into the run) to tell me the penultimate heat had just started. Suddenly I had motivation to move quickly. I must have shifted from close to 8:30 pace to close to 6:30 pace. Can't say I felt light or fresh, but I worked hard and made the light at Rockville Pike. Kept the pace strong into the building and down the ramp to the track where I caught Aaron Rennert's final three laps. Sorry to have missed the first three legs, but pleased that I got a bit of quality in.
