Gas, Gas, Gas

February 14, 2018 (Night)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: Indoor Track

Comments:
No, the title is not based on the fact I was farting a lot lol.

Today's workout was 600 (mile pace), 500 (mile pace), 400 (800m pace), 3x300 (800m pace) with equal rest. This was a pretty brutal workout, because we're definitely not used to doing a lot of speed yet. But everything it felt rough, I remembered what Matthew Baxter was thinking all throughout his National XC race... "Gas, Gas, Gas".

For the first part of the workout, I stayed a second behind Paolo. My legs felt pretty heavy, but I was managing to hang on. The first 400 and 300 felt really tough, I honestly thought I might drop off. But I just kept thinking "gas, gas, gas", managed to get really angry, and have 2 really good last 300m splits. I was pleased with my final 300m (not gonna lie, definitely pulled a freshmen finish, but needed to do that to finish the workout).

Overall a good workout, much better than Monday in my opinion. I'm racing GVSU Tuneup this Friday, so the quest for sub 2 in the 800m finally begins.

Also welcome to the log @Ryan Whinnery. You will make a great addition to this log culture, my good sir.
