Tempo Run. It still feels like I have a long way to go to feel "fast" again. I don't know what my standard is, but my casual pace is north of 8:30 and I just can't seem to hold a sub-7 for more than 800 meters. I'll need to go 6:25-ish to break 20-min in a 5K, which was one of my 2009 goals. Time's getting short. Today's tempo run was a step in the right direction at least. Ran a warm-up mile, then my target 2-miles at sub-7:30, then held to under 8 for the final (4th) mile. The last mile was a good one - not quite at tempo pace, but not a dump mile; I just eased off the tempo pace and still pushed a little. This is way too much analysis for a noon-time runner who's very average. Heck, I couldn't even qualify for Boston as a 30-year-old woman. Go Tara.
