Today's workout was 3 sets of 600 at mile pace, 30 second rest, 200 at 800 pace, and a 1600 m easy jog. Going into this workout, I was a bit nervous. My workouts have been either good or really bad these days, and I didn't get a great night sleep beforehand. On top of that, I decided to do this workout early and alone, since I can't make it to practice today (mannn fuck Global Sales Leadership Society) and I'm trying to hit up that $3.14 pizza later today lol.
Enough excuses though. I finally had a really good workout today. After layering up for the cold, chewing a piece of run gum, and heading out to ELHS, I finally felt satisfied with a workout again. The first set was tough, but I hit the splits. I had to use the bathroom, but of course the bathrooms weren't open, so I had to focus my energy away from the poo and onto the "can do" (attitude). The second set was just a tad slower, nevertheless though I still felt solid. On the final set, I just sent it as hard as I could. I wanted my last to be my fastest and I managed to do that. I was dead tired after I slammed down the acceleration for the 200. However, super happy with the workout and glad to be back.
I couldn't run yesterday, because I just got too busy with running club stuff. I was trying to figure out the new hotel situation (which I did and I saved got the track runners only 11 minutes away from the new National Track location), and I also had to figure out what were doing for Nationals and make several different budgets. The whole thing was a shit show and I'm not happy to have separate hotels on Friday night for half marathoners and track runners, but what can you do. So, I missed practice to try and figure stuff out, but looks were all good.
The officer meeting also went super long, and I was hungry af for Wilson Late Night Date Night (the best late night!). I was happy that we managed to pass the rule to make the VP positions open to experience MSU RC members. I think there are several well qualified people on this club (not currently on the eboard) who would be great VPs. The turnout was also the most we've ever had a meeting, so I'm excited for how competitive elections are going to be!
If I have time tonight and make it to practice at a decent hour, I might try and run 3-4 more miles. But we shall see, gotta hit up that $3.14 PI day deal! SKKKR SKKRRRRR! Happy Pi Day, and now I gotta rush to a quiz and try not to fail it lol.
