Confused about the meaning of a snow day

March 21, 2018 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 33 and snowing

Comments:
I seemed to forget the number one benefit of a snow day and opted to wake at 6:20 to run with Mark Berenson. At least now I'm sitting by a warm fire with a bowl of bean soup and no run hanging over my head. The snow was pretty, but not quite as impressive as some of those amazing snow runs I've taken over the years (Little Falls solo; Wissahickon W/ the Dawg, Suter, and Wombat; Rock Creek with Harrison, Mad Dag, and Flash, Snowmaggedon down Reno Road with a sled to ride the downhills... to name a few), but very nice to have Mark's company and a legitimate (sub seven?) pace for much of it. He'd collected me and I led us on a not very scenic route basically up through Somerset, past Caveman's and down through Chevy Chase, and Brookville/Broad Branch. After he peeled off on Ellicott, I went more slowly to the corner of Reno and Cumberland, then ran steady at 7:05 pace for that final mile home getting in just under 51 total minutes. Cardio felt fine the whole way, but legs weren't fresh and the little Linnean Hill up to Fessenden called my bluff.
