Alright whats up my dudes. I just ran a 15:27.72 5k and I am getting drunk right now. I am pretty inebriated currently and by the end of the log that inebriation level should only increase. OK so lets get right to it. I'm not going to edit all the typos and grammatical errors that are about to happen so deal with it u softies.
So originally I planned on just leaving my collegiate 5k career at NIRCa Nats. I went full send and died, so what was the point of trying again? But then on Marathon Monday, I got super inspired and Wes told me that we should do this one 5k down at Siena Heights University on Friday (today) under the lights. so me on some emotion after watching des linden win was all like " alright it's redemption time. Let's fuckin do this.
My legs honestly did not feel FULLY recovered from nats until yesterday. But today I felt good. I played 9 holes with Wes, Chief, and RC. Wes and I were tied going into the final hole but I blew up and he beat me by 3 strokes rip. Then the rest of the day I worked on making the Gunson Burner quiz. Let me vent here. BUZZFEED FUCK ALL YALL AND THE AUTISTIC DEVELO-PERS YOU EMPLOY. JFC THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF GLITCHES OPN YOUR SITE THATR MADE ME FURIOUS!!@!! At the end of the day i should all workout but man, fuck those guys. I want names. I have currwently copmpleted like 11 of the 25 questions we came up with. Quiz come soon.
OK so our race was scheduled to go off at 9:20, and we were planning on leaving at liek 6:30. But then at like 5:20 Wes was folowing results and saw they were an hour ahead of shedule and that we needed to get going. So We leave the burner at 5:38. On the way there, Wes was following the results and saw that were potentially fucked for any sort of warmup. Once we arrived at like 7:10, we had 5 heats of the women's 200m before we were to go off. So we go over and talk to the coach and he says he's just happy we made it and that he won;t charge us anything. Ayyyyy free race leggoooo. So Wes and I spike up and begin our 10 minute warmup. Lucas Peterson shows up shortly after us.
I go to the line and feel good. gun goes off and I IMMEDIATLEY feel soreness in my calves. Fuck my calves. sit on Luca Peterson's shoulder for every turn and then sit behind him on the straightaways. I was feeling like a BIG BALLER with my sunglasses on at dusk. Here were my splits:
1600: 4:56.0 - Very good. Very easy, This was the warmup lmao.
3200: 9:55.5 (4:59.5) - I drop Lucas Peterson here (big dick). Still easy. Except my claves are ROCKS.
4800: 14:53.5 (4:58.0) - this was solo. Peterson dropped WAy back. 74/75 per lap is easy. I'm just going alaong. Wish I had someone to push me.
5000: 15:27.72 (:34.2) - Ayy lmao.
i felt too good for this. I do think I couldve gone faster but I was too scared of blowing up like i did last week. Hooray I have the undergad club record. who gives a fuck. I shouldve beaten Colin Riley. L.
Afterwards, I could not walk normally because my calves hurt so much. Everything else felt fine in my body tbh. Completely 180 from what happened at Nats wow. We then cooled down with Peterson and some other guys from MRun. They're savages.
Next up is ACTUALLY hillsdale and the dickl is goingon the table. I can;'t go out without a club record and this race gave me confidmence. Lick deez nhuts.
