"We're sorry, but something went wrong...

...We were notified about the issue last Friday but have not been able to fix it."

Pretty awful way to end my track career but I'm ok with it. There wasn't anything I could do. I am certain that there is something torn in my calves. I never DNF'd a race until today but I can live with it being due to injury. I could have just not started at all and been left with what if. But now I am definitely taking at least a week off from running so that my legs can heal. Really sucks that I won't be able to run with you all next week but I'll try to come around to say hi. Otherwise, you know where to find me. Also RIP to the Steph vs. Wes 400 :(

But hey, I'm walking away from this club with the undergrad club record in the 5000m and that's still pretty cool. It really sucks being 2nd when looking at the club all-time, but I have said before that I would be happy just closing that gap between his 15:22.4 and everyone else.

BIG shoutouts to TCook on his dawg pound 16:15 and to Austin on his big PR. I think that there are two lessons that can be learned from all this:

1. Trust The Process. Always.
2. I said it already but I'll say it again: Always make the most of every opportunity you have. You never know when it will be your last.

Not sure if I'll ever put the spikes on again. My future lies with marathons (while sporting a Hamm's tank and hat) and triathlons. Although I'll miss the speed that comes with track running, I am excited for where this future will take me. However, remember: "It's not over. It'll never be over."

Lastly, I think I have come to the conclusion that the notions "girls make you fast" and "girls make you slow" are both hogwash.
