The final state race

October 31, 2009 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: The worst weather possible, windy

Comments:
There's so much to say!
I won't go into detail about my race, but I know I could have gone faster because when I finished I wasn't even tired!
The bad part was that I got a terrible side ache! Ah! I was like running on those rolly hills and kind of enjoying it, and then all of a sudden I felt this awful pain in my side! I was like...dang it...and it was only the last part of the race really, the last mile. I was like NO!!! WAIT SORA!! But oh well. I still finished 14th :) hahah and it was hilarious because usually when you run by coach he's really nice and encouraging, but i saw him and i think he could tell i was in pain and he was like "suck it up!" Haha i laughed inside but then realized i couldn't let him down or the team down, so i looked up and told my sideache to shut up.

Anyways, the course was amazing, I thought. It was the perfect course, just horrible weather. It sucks having wind blow in your face and push you back! That's probably why i didn't run as fast as i wanted to.

Overall, great trip.
I was a little upset about my place, because i wanted to be in the top 10 and get a sub 19 by the end of the season, but eh i was close. I think i'm just going to use what i didn't conquer in cross-country for track as a motivation. After all, track is my favorite sport :)

To sum up the season:
It's been a LONGGGG season. For me, I've been running since july i believe, and i think it's paid off.

Words cannot describe how much has changed this season. Great things are about to happen to Meridian High School cross-country in the next few years, and I'm proud to say I was one of the first to bring Meridian back on it's feet :)

Last year, I said on one of my running logs, "I have one more year, and it's my time to shine."
I think i accomplished that.

I was nowhere near where I was last season. NOWHERE. I even have people I don't know come up to me at meets saying, "where did you come from?" No joke!! I'm proud to say, even if I didn't accomplish what I wanted, this was my year. And for track... BRING IT ON!!!!!!

I didn't cry like I was expecting. The time when I almost did was when me and Sora found out we had placed third and we told Becca and Chelsie, and there was this weird moment of excitement. We were all hugging, laughing, and smiling! I held back my tears though. I could tell Becca and Chelsie were gonna cry, but we ended up not. I can't believe this was the last time.

I have confidence that my running career is not over. During the last stretch of my finish, things were going in slow motion for me and I was thinking, "wow, i feel like i am just beginning."

I would like to thank my team:
Thank you Sora for pushing me. I thought I had you at the beginning of the year, but you really are an amazing distance runner and I wish you luck in track and we will have a BOMB distance medley relay at the Boise relays!
Thank you Lila for running at my heels and making me fight for that second place on our team. You are an amazing runner just like your sister, and i hope you get your goal in the mile of breaking 5:00 :) You can do it and i'm sooo excited for track with you!
Thank you Chelsie for making me laugh all the time! And for giving me a reason to come to practice when I feel like crap! hahaha i love you, you gorilla :)
Thank you Becca for being there for me all three years that I have ran cross-country. You sure have a ton of talent in things and I am pumped for more track experiences :) You are a sexy person!! hahaha
Thank you Ashley for staying our 6th and sometimes 5th varisty girl. Your solid work has made the team what it is, even if you don't think so :) You will have a great season next year if you just keep pushing. You've got it in you :)
Thank you Savannah for coming out of nowhere and keeping our 5th, 6th, and 7th girls on their toes! You definately have some talent to bring this team, and I'm excited to see you and Lila tear it up the next couple of years.

Thanks to Coach Rusty for making this team a huge success. I would say that you have been a real blessing for this team, thanks and i'm pumped for track
Thanks Coach Brice for being hilarious and teaching us great things about running. You as well have been a great contribution to the team, and I have enjoyed having you as a coach these last three years.
Thanks Coach Liz for being so organized and nice :) You've been a great contribution as well! You have so much encouragement for everyone
Thanks Cindy for being there for us as well :) And keeping us organized!

Well, i'll have more to say i guess at the banquet, but thanks!

And to Taylor and Dylan:
Taylor: You make me laugh!! HAHAHA anyways, you also have it in you to go beyond in your running career :) Keep it up! You did AMAZING at state
Dylan: You are a beast and I can't wait to see you... maybe... win your senior year :)

WE ARE CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
