Running the day after a marathon...

May 28, 2018 (Morning)

Exercise Type: Run

Comments:
...is not the most pleasant experience. But honestly, compared to the later miles of a marathon, it's not so bad. I'd say its roughly equivalent to miles 14-18 in terms of discomfort, though in a different sort of way. Your legs hurt, of course, but you know you're free to stop any time. There's that glow of pride knowing you don't have to be doing this, that you just ran a freakin' MARATHON!
So all in all, I'd say its worth it. Next time you run a marathon, give it a try. Oh, and it's supposed to make you less sore. Yeah, we'll see about that...

Did a full set of sprint drills and leg swings afterward. Really that hardest thing for my right now is using my quads. When I ran, my default is to barely lift my legs, but I can break out of that if I tell myself to. The Charles River was so beautiful today I just couldn't help myself, adding on more and more miles. That's when you know you truly love this sport. Even when you hurt, you can't resist its call.

Did the last mile in 7:12, just to see if I could.
