swimmer's ear, last day in EP

May 31, 2018 (Afternoon)

Exercise Type: Run

Weather: 84 degrees. FELT more humid than it actually was

Comments:
sooooo i am going to have to take a break from swimming AGAIN. i woke up yesterday feeling sore in my right ear, but it just felt like maybe i slept on it weird or something. but then later in the evening it began throbbing and was so painful i could hardly sleep. so i went to the doc today already knowing my diagnosis (i have had swimmer's ear before) and got some really expensive ear drops.

tangent: FUCK THE US HEALTHCARE SYSTEM SO MUCH. i get that it is kinda ironic for me to be saying that considering i am about to start a job working on developing healthcare software but still. my ear drops should NOT cost so much. like what if i couldn't afford them? i would just have to suffer with throbbing ear pain until my ear eventually fixes itself??? deadass my grandpa crosses the border into mexico to buy all of his drugs because they are like 90% cheaper there. literally the town that he goes to across the border is just a bunch of pharmaceutical shops. my grandpa lives in a retirement community in AZ with a lot of other old people that are on medication and 0% of them buy their drugs domestically. congratulations DJT on making america great again.

Ok but back to the actual doctor appointment. me and doc spent more time talking about Epic than my ear lol. this guy was awesome. he told me the following things:

-the united states healthcare system is broken
-Epic is taking over the healthcare software world.
-once Epic goes public i will be filthy stinking rich assuming i stick with the company. (the founder/ceo is in her 70's so i would expect that to happen to happen within 10 (?) years once a new ceo is brought in)
-he had a girlfriend go to med school at msu, telling me "msu is in east lansing not bad lansing right?"
-he sees software engineers from other companies frequently and they all look like they hate their lives.

soooo immediately after biking, i changed clothes, put on my shoes, and went running (brick run woooo!). legs felt pretty horrible. usually brick runs feel good because the biking warms up my legs but they were actually tired for this one.

i also went to the running store and got some new ZOOM Pegs and ZOOM Elites. my current lunaracers are at 545 miles so i am thinking i'll go another month in them before switching to the pegs and elites. additionally i got some really good running tights that might be my new favorite (even better than my gray ones!) and a neon yellow pair of Nike split shorts. The Nike 2" split shorts are the best-looking and most comfortable running shorts out there (at least for males) and if you disagree then you are just wrong.

lastly, i have decided that Yung Gravy has BARS and i am very sorry for ignoring red cap about that. turns out Yung Gravy is also 22 and hails from Rochester, MN. I didn't know that Rochester was good for anything other than their hospital so BIG UP Yung Gravy. while listening to some of his tracks i recognized the song that he samples in Mr. Clean (which is possibly better than his thot song) but i couldn't figure out where i had heard it from. it took me some time but i finally remembered that it came from this video showing a world without female drivers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NlYqOLy3hKQ
