i hurt everywhere

played flag football last night and woke up this morning feeling sore everywhere. that being said, i would like to add to Lucas' commentary on athleticism.

I could've run 10 miles yesterday and I would probably hardly feel sore today. But playing flag football is very different that just simply running. I did a lot of sprinting, falling, diving, cuts, jukes, spins, and other quick movements, all movements that my body is far from used to doing. Was I the most athletic person on the field? Not sure, but I definitely was not the best player. I was getting burned in coverage and dropping balls all over the place. However, I did not get tired like everybody else. In terms of "physique" and "fitness" I was probably the most athletic person on the field. But I was def far from the best player. So what really determines athleticism?

IMO we just simply can't compare people such as LeBron and Usain Bolt as "who is the better athlete?" because they both specialize in things so different. I like to think of Ashton Eaton as the greatest athlete of all time, but again, how would his skills translate to something like swimming?

Alistair Brownlee is another example. Olympic champion in triathlon. Tremendous athleticism. But is he a better athlete than LeBron? That's a question that just simply can't be answered. Alistair could probably train for years at bball and would still be trash just as LeBron could probably train for years at triathlon and also be trash. Just completely different bodies with different skill sets.

So I guess instead of fighting over who is a better athlete in different sports, let's just appreciate the abilities that they have in what they do.

For my swim I did 4x500 on 8:00. My avg. was like 6:53 but it's hard to be accurate because the clock is hard to see.
