There is so much fake news going around today they don't even try to get it right!!!! I #DidTheMath and I found out that a 500m swim in 7:00 is equivalent to about a 6:24 500y swim, because a yard is 91% of a meter. And I was thinking the other day, "there is NO way I was going any where near the 6:20's for my 500's. So I said fuck you to the TWO employees at the gym (one sale guy and one front desk guy) who were 294% SURE that the pool was meters, NOT yards. It is baffling how fucking certain they were. I even grilled them:

Me: "Listen, I swim a lot. There is a BIG difference between meters and yards. Are you SURE that this pool is meters?"
Them: "Yes, it is definitely meters, not yards."
Me: "Really? Because it feels a lot like yards..."
Them: "Nope, it is a meter pool."
At this point they're probably thinking "who the fook is this guy"
Me: "Are you SURE?"
Them: "Yes, the pool is 25 meters."

Well, as I suspected, the mofos were WRONG. I went out with my fucking ruler and measured the pool TWICE. It is 25 yards. Fuck these guys telling me that it was meters. They weren't even like, "Oh, I am not actually sure. But I will go find out." They were so hellbent on being right and just following what someone else told them. Now, I realize it is probably not their fault for spreading fake news, but SOMEONE didn't learn about his units of measurement in 3rd grade.

So be mindful. Don't be sheep. Sometimes if you want to get the info, you got to go figure it out for your fucking self. Can't trust anybody anymore these days.

Ok </rant>, but this had me TILTED for my swim tonight. Oh, and today just happened to also be Mr. 45's 72nd bday. Fitting that I conquered the fake news today.
