Since I had nothing else to do tonight and since the gym is open 24 hrs, I went over to the pool to get a solid workout in. And boy was it great. Every time I have gone, someone has written a workout ojn the whiteboard by the pool so I decided to just go ahead and follow that.

The written warm up was wack so I just did my standard 500 swim to warm up. Then I got into the meat and potatoes...

3 sets of the following:
200 on the 3:00/3:10/3:20, where the first set was on the 3:00, second was on the 3:10, and third on 3:20
100 on the 1:10/1:15/1:25 (hitting 1:07, 1:10, 1:20)
50 on the 1:10
2x100 on the 1:10/1:15/1:25 (hitting [1:09,1:14 - THE ONLY INTERVAL I MISSED RIP],[1:12,1:14],[1:20,1:20])
50 on the 1:10
3x100 descend on the 1:30/1:40/1:50 (don't remember most of them but I hit 1:08 on the last one)
:30 extra rest between sets

then I just did a 100 cooldown.

THOUGHTS:
Yeah, there was a lot of rest, but there were also some scattered fast 100's. It is always tough to continue going at a descent pace after a sprint, and then to a sprint again. So it was a really good workout and a lot of yards. When I first saw the 1:10 intervals, I was like "there is no way I am hitting those." But I did hit 2 of the 3 so I am pleased with that, especially since I am still in the beginning stages of getting back to peak fitness. I haven't done really any fast 100's since like March so this was really good. I am also getting a lot better at reading the poorly positioned clock.

Great way to spend my Friday night. Feeling 100. If my arms are feeling alright tomorrow I think I might trek up to Lake Monona or something to go swim with Ken.
