Today, I met up with Brett at River Bend Park over by Utica. We started out on some pretty narrow mountain Bike Trails. Not far in, we let a woman riding a mountain bike pass us, so we stopped for a sec on the side. Immediately after she passed us, she fucking crashed straight into a tree and went down lmao. Brett and I made sure she was alright, but man these mountain bike paths are ruthless. I saw a few other mountain bikers almost biff it, so pretty challenging place to bike RIP.
Eventually we got out of the trails and stopped by a water fountain in Utica. We continued running through some neighborhood. It was hot and af as it's been all week, so we were both feeling pretty mehhhh at miles 3.5-5.75. After we passed 5.75, Brett stopped and I finished off 7.20. Right before the end, I saw a dog running ahead of me and it didn't look like he had an owner. I ended up running stopping over by him, petting him, and then eventually his owner came back and I talked to him for a second. I forgot to stop my watch in that time, so RIP. I think i was actually averaging about 7:22 pace, but whatev I'm not consider about my yearly mile pace lol.
So overall the run didn't feel too bad for being hot. Just mildly meh. Solid 6/10. In other news, I've finally converted to starting my running log weeks on Monday. Unfortunately, that makes a lot of my old weeks look funky, but I'm getting tired of not having Saturday and Sunday to a get a long run in. When the new weeks starts on Sunday, it just kind of throws things off so i made a change.
I might be racing a 5K in Corunna on Wednesday morning. I just want to see what kind of shape I'm in right now, because I really have no idea. Stay tuned.
