Def my best bike ever. Awesome course. 56.2 miles, averaging 22.5 mph. Negative split too. That's what we like to see. Called "Gas" a lot and no lie it helped a lot. But, you gotta be careful calling "Gas" bc if you run out of gas before you can refuel you're boned.
My speed matched what I did in the Boston Tri last year, but that was only like 22 miles. So this was good. Like my swim, gonna work on my speed over the next 4 weeks.
There were points in the race where I was literally screaming "GAS". The spectators and other racers probably thought I was a lunatic. I also gave a complimentary "sheesh" every time someone passed me. I hope they liked that.
For the first 10 miles I was kinda going back and forth with some lady. But eventually I decided that I was not going to get girled so I let out a good "GAS!" and left her in the dust. Cheeks. Clapped.
One point in the race I was going downhill and got stuck behind some car that was going slower than me. I shouted lots of obscenities. There may have been some children around spectating at that moment idk.
At another point in the race I passed some guy wearing a Tour de Douchebag polka dot jersey while GOING UPHILL. Sorry bro, but you need to just hop off your bike and rethink your choices in life in that scenario.
Overall, a very fun weekend. Super exhausted though. Just 4 weeks left until it's #MarathonSZN
