Well, I was gonna get my long run done yesterday but I managed to get distracted. I went over to Tom's apartment and randomly we ended up talking about how awesome The Return of the King video game was for PS2 and OG Xbox. We got nostalgic af about it, until Tom said "fuck it" and was gonna order it on Amazon. Well, instead of doing that, I remembered that there's probably a vintage trader store that sells old games (I only knew this because I used to collect blu rays and look everywhere for them lol).
So we ended up calling some place in Lansing and as it turned out they had the game. We were pumped and drove there immediately. It was inside a building with a bunch of retro artwork on the outside. And it seemed to be owned by a bigger dude with a long pony tail and a cat, so basically exactly what you'd expect (but shoutout to that dude for living his best life, he can literally play any video game he wants). So we ended up getting the game. And I was so pumped that we had the game that I accidentally turned onto a busy one way street. Suddenly 5-6 cars were headed straight at us (for a while I had taken a break from the massive L game, but it came back with a swinging vengeance. And worst of all, I had swung out to the middle lane, rather than the right lane. Luckily, a truck coming from the right lane slowed and let me go in front of him to pull into a drive way. But man that was a huge L, but at least I got the game.
So once we got back to Tom's apartment, we played it for probably about 4 hours. I was complete ass when I first got back into it, but then realized all I needed to do was either constantly parry and/or be Gandalf and I would be ok. So Tom and I got on a huge role and ended up straight up beating the game. I never even got close to beating the game as a kid, so I'll definitely count that as a W.
So fast forward to today, I came back from EL and have studied all day. By 11:15, I realized I haven't long run yet, so I hopped on the good ol dreadmill and turned on Return of the King. I know I haven't finished Two Towers yet, but I'm saving that for a shorter run. The long felt pretty smooth all the way through. I got a little tired towards the end, but that's to be expected.
So overall good run and a good weekend. Now back to studying and eating dinner at 1:45am (am I back to taking as the main L taker in Culture 3 again @BJ?).
