So I contacted Wisconsin's NIRCA running club (The WTC), and now I am in their public Facebook group. So I posted in there asking if anybody was around and wanted to do a long run today, and I actually got a response from some guy named Nick! We made plans to meet on campus at 4:00pm.

I plugged in the location into Google Maps and I saw a parking garage right by where we were going to meet. Great right? WRONG! Man, if you thought MSU's parking was trash, wait until you see UW's. Every parking garage/lot on campus is by permit only, EVEN in the summer AND on the weekends. Like wtf. PLus, it is impossible to find any open spots to park on the street.

So I get to campus at 4:00pm and it isn't until 4:10pm that I find a place to park. And of course meanwhile I got some guy named Nick waiting for me that I have never met. I got nervous and jump out of car and start running, but not until I realized I actually had no idea where I was bc I was trying to find just anywhere to park and was nervous about Nick leaving without me. So I ran around for 1.62 miles at tempo pace until I finally found the meeting place after asking not one, but two people where it was. Thankfully, at 4:20pm I caught Nick just as he was about to give up on me. Man that guy has some patience.

Nick's a nice guy, a junior. We had a great run together through UW's Arboretum. We talked a lot about our clubs n shit. He hasn't been very involved in NIRCA but is planning on getting more into it this year. I learned that WTC is about just as disorganized as the MSU RC. He also told me that I would absolutely be welcome to hang out with the WTC and run with them and stuff throughout the school year. So that should be a lot of fun. Maybe I'll actually make some friends.

Towards the end of the run I was literally an inch from trucking some child that ran out in front of me in front of a restaurant. Luckily my Madden Awareness rating is 99 and I juked the young gunna out. I hate cities.

So I am very happy I am not living in the downtown area. Also way more homeless people that I thought. While I was walking back to my car, I got cat called by some creepy homeless woman.
