August 25, 2018 (Morning)
Exercise Type: Run
Comments:
We met up at Anthony's house. Mark Berenson ('00), me ('04), Daniel Samet ('12), and Jacob Gaba ('18). Pretty cool to be bringing together runners from such different eras, all of who are in great running shape (except, arguably, me), and well matched to run together. Anthony led us down one of my favorite trails, Soapstone Valley, north through Rock Creek Park along a trail we think is called Comanche or Apache, and then up the trail that parallels Military Road to Fort DeRussy, and then back along Military past were American City Diner (R.I.P.) used to serve the best milkshakes. Kept a solid pace the whole way, though I was feeling pretty worn down from running twice with two different Gunthers yesterday. My right achilles was sore near the heel when I started jogging over to Anthony's house at 8:30am and though it didn't bother me during the main run, I got a ride home from Jacob afterwards instead of running back so as to avoid aggravating it. The rest of the day I just feel worn down. Great run thought and great conversation.
