Today's workout was 2x2 mile and 1 x 1 mile @ race pace with 3 min break at the Ag Site. It was a little bit of a shit show at first, since the Ag Site has changed since the last time we were there. We couldn't exactly get a 1 mile loop, so we really had no direct route. And on the first rep, one group went one way and my group went another, so it was kind of a mess. But I think everyone eventually got the hang of it.
The 2 mile rep went pretty decent. My goal was to hit 11:00- 11:15 and i hit 11:05 (according to GPS). I ran with Mitch for most of it. The second one was a lot tough though. I dropped behind Mitch, T-Cook, and Canna and could only manage an 11:26. Not where I wanted to be, but I'm happy to have pushed through the rep with everything I had. My legs were feeling like lead. And then most people didn't do the last mile and I knew I had to finish this workout to give myself the mental edge. So, I pushed through the last mile in 5:31. It's no 4:49 mile like Robby's, but it is progress indeed (I'm actually like I didn't write an extremely emo log 2 days ago lol). Especially in this heat. My legs felt so rough on the cool down, but I'm gonna take it easy and hope I can break 30 mins at Spartan.
